It is the only mineralogical museum in province of Agrigento and it has been created thanks to the passion of a life, begun when Mr Cutaia was a child. A passion born because of a lot of mines are in the province of Agrigento in general and in Comitini in particular and of its local hodmen used for the extraction of minerals. At the moment the museum is in Mr Cutaia's home, next to Palazzo Bellacera as the collection is Mr. Cutaia's property. The learned man has spent a lot of years to collect minerals, not only from Agrigento and its province, but from all over the world, thanks to gifts, purchases and exchanges with other people. For this passion maybe the museum is one of the richest and most important in Italy today. It has a lot of minerals coming from Italy and other parts of the world (Spain, Morocco, U.S.A., Turkey, India, South Africa, and so on). We can also admire auriferous quartz, agate, crystal chalk, emerald and diamond. Not only the scholar, but also the curious, can admire the beauty of the colors and the strangeness of the minerals in creating geometrical forms.
