Un server deve sempre stare in piedi, ma NT all'avvio si ferma ed aspetta che
qualcuno inserisca UserID e password. Cosi' puo' capitare (e prima o poi capita)

Automating the Windows NT login
To ensure that your server restarts after a power failure, you must configure the server computer to log into Windows NT automatically when it boots. To do so, you use the Windows NT Registry Editor.
WARNING: Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious, system-wide problems that might require you to reinstall Windows NT to correct them. Use this tool at your own risk.
To ensure that you continue to have access to Windows NT Admin functions, your server must log in as the Windows NT Administrator or a user with Admin privileges. (To bypass auto-login, hold down the Shift key when the Windows NT splash screen appears.)
To automate the Windows NT login, follow these steps.
The Registry Editor application window opens. It contains four dialogs.
- a) Double-click on SOFTWARE.
- b) Double-click on Microsoft.
- c) Double-click on Windows NT.
- d) Double-click on CurrentVersion.
- e) Double-click on Winlogon.
For auto-login to work, the following values must be included in the list that appears: AutoAdminLogon, DefaultPassword, and DefaultUserName. One or more of these values might already be included in the list. If they are, just make sure that the string specified for the value is correct. If you haven’t made any changes to the Registry, the list probably includes DefaultUserName, but not AutoAdminLogon or DefaultPassword.
- a) Choose Edit -> Add Value.
- b) For Value Name, enter "AutoAdminLogon".
- c) For Data Type, select REG_SZ.
- d) Click OK.
- e) For String, enter "1".
- f) Click OK.
- a) Choose Edit -> Add Value.
- b) For Value Name, enter "DefaultPassword".
- c) For Data Type, select REG_SZ.
- d) Click OK.
- e) For String, enter the password for the Windows NT Administrator.
- f) Click OK.
- a) Double-click on DefaultUserName.
- b) For String, enter "Administrator".
- c) Click OK.

Adesso NT completa il riavvio automatico, ed io posso arrivare serenamente al lavoro, prendermi un caffe' e poi vedere nel file di log che la notte precedente c'e' stato un blackout.
