IT IS IDEAL FOR SHORT DISTANCES

IT IS CHEAPER THAN THE UNDERGROUND

IT IS IDEAL TO HAVE A LOOK AROUND THE CITY CENTER

If you want to travel by bus, there are two kinds of bus in London: double-deckers and single-deckers.

Double deckers have got two decks: the bottom deck and the top deck, and they have usually got a driver and a conductor.who comes and takes your fare. On double-deckers fares depend on the length of the journey.

Single-deckers have got one deck only, and there are no conductors on them. When you get on the bus you put your money in the box near the driver and he will give you your ticket.

Fares are based on a system of 6 zones, with central London called zone 1.Single bus fares are 70p outside zone 1, or £ 1 within the central zone.Single child fares are 40p anywhere in London.

If you don't want to waste your time queueing up for tickets you can use a "Travelcard".  It is a special ticket you can use  on any London buses. It is a very economical and easy way to get around London.  The  maps on most bus shelters explain their routes and where to go for a bus to a chosen destination.
