The Association, based in Bardonecchia and Turin, was born not many years ago with the aim of:

- recovering Alpine bobbin lace;
- spreading again bobbin lace in Piemonte region;
- teaching bobbin lace in Bardonecchia and Turin;
- Organise a lace show to relaunch bobbin lace as artistic production.

Bobbin lace  was brought to Rochemolles (a small country not far from Bardonecchia) by Isabelle du Serre, wife of Lorenzo de Ferrus, in 1620-30. Rochemolles was the first bobbin lace place of production in the area Piemonte - Valle d' Aosta - Delfinato: since 1651 we can find evidences of lace in wedding and heritage acts. Lace was used for the traditional dress: collars, cuffs, handkerchiefs...

It is a typical alpine lace, with the ground in point de Paris and the main design in whole stitch, with the use of a gimp. Some Torchon lace are also available in the region.

With the support of local authorities, we try to recover Bardonecchia lace, adapting od techniques to the modern taste. Our first goal will be a lace and market event, to show new original laces and create an opportunity of gain like in the past, when in winter all thw women of a country met together around a lamp to make lace and other feminine works.
