Luisa Zanzani Fioravanti started making bobbin lace when she retired (she was a hospital nurse), learning it from an old lacemaker who had learnt the art of lace when she was a child, in an orphanage.

Later on, she developed her knowledge by herself, looking for old and new lace books that soon became a good number and now form an interesting collection.

She often took part with lace works and her book collection in Sansepolcro International Lace Biennial; she also took part in a number of stages in Sansepolcro, Cantù, Gorizia. To be remembered the courses of Fondazione Lisio in Florence devoted to the study and recognition of old laces.

She teaches bobbin lace in Cesena Red Cross Feminine Section and has relations with other Italian lace schools and teachers, for instance, in Meldola, Cantù, Predoi.
