Circular to All National President
Couples
Dear Colleague,
Greetings to you and to all your members and
their families. We hope you all had a good summer with a few days of rest, to
recharge enough strength in our voluntary work for the coming year. The
following are a few points for your consideration and comments.
Continental President
Couple.
As we informed you in a previous circular, our
period as Continental President Couple will expire next year. There will be an
election for this post during the IV European Congress in Zagreb. There are many
in your country who are capable to lead our Movement for the next three years.
We strongly encourage you to nominate couples who are ready to accept this
responsibility. All we need is to pray to find the right couples to contest the
election. But we also need to do our part. We shall be very pleased to receive
your nominations.
CFM EUROPE.
It is our wish to make our CFM
newsletter as informative as possible. Sharing experiences always helps.
Reports from each country about your activities and other relevant news will
greatly serve for this purpose. May we ask you to help us by sending such
reports. A photo or two will also help.
European Congress.
This is to be held in Zagreb, Croatia from the
17th to 20th July 2002. There will also be a visit to
Medjugorje from the 20th to 21st July 2002.
Preparations are in an advance stage. We visited Zagreb last May and we are
planning to meet again the organizing committee by the end of October.
With all the preparations there is no success
without participants. May we recommend to pass the news to all your members and
try to organise a group to participate in this European Family Congress. These
European Congresses involve plenty of work and sacrifice. The idea is to feel
better, a sense of belonging, and to refresh and know our mission
better.
FUNDS.
The International Secretariat of I.C.C.F.M. has
recommended that each couple contribute AT LEAST one US dollar per year for the
expenses of our International Movement. For such a Movement to continue its
worldwide mission, it needs to develop self sufficient funding. A dollar per
couple is the dire minimum, one can ask for, not to cause any special financial
inconvenience on the member families. Whilst we heartily thank the countries who
have already contributed, we urge others who are still due, to do so at the
earliest convenience.
