Maurizio Umberto Puxeddu was born in Carbonia (Sardegna, Italy), but grew up and lives in Cagliari. He studies doublebass at the " G.P. da Palestrina" Conservatory and physics at the local University. He's a proud member of the GULCh (Gruppo Utenti Linux Cagliari, the local Linux User Group).
These pages concern his interests in computer music, doublebass, microtonality, live electronic processing, musical composition and, in general, the interaction between musician (human player or composer) and machines (computers or other electronics) with artistic aims.
Here.
At the moment my main interest playing the doublebass as well as writing software is tuning and intonation. So I'm working to a pitch tracking software and its applications:
This software can be downloaded at the MusTec server.
The software has been developed on the Linux/Intel platform (kernel version 2.2.14-5.0 running on a i586 ). C and C++ programs have been compiled with GNU 2.95.1 and Tcl/Tk scripts have been written with version 8.0. Documentation in postscript format has been typeset with Latex 2e and translated with dvips. Zipped files are in ".tgz" format (GNU tar + gzip).
Feel free to contact M.U.P. at this address: umbpux@tin.it.
Curriculum vitae in italiano.
Here you can find a list of professional, amateur and student doublebass player with their email addresses.
