(interview done in summer 2001)

Levifer is a two piece (ops, now a one-man-band) from Peru and plays really great technical Death Metal with demonic screams and “Satanic” ( honestly I don’t know if this term is appropriate) lyrics... I grabbed a copy of their great “Tribute To The Supreme Beast” demo 2000 and I got in touch with Levifer, the mastermind of the band which has his same denomination, in order to know more about not only about his main project but his other band called Goat Semen..

I’m sorry this guy have exchanged my ‘zine for an ordinary bunch of paper sheets that makes interviews to the bands just for give them promotion (a thing that irritates me a lot), without focusing and answering seriously to the more deep questions I’ve set him: in example in the fragments of the interview where I ask him infos about the band he fills a lot of space (just like the starting question), but when I ask him  serious and personal thoughts about Satanism, black magick and its concept of evilness, he simplistically reply with such superficial phrases like the ones below... If you want my sincere opinion, I’m not that satisfied about this one interview, but however I think this band really kick ass.

About Goat Semen, this black vomit was formed in february 2000 by Erik and me, longing to create the most bastard and blasphemous noise that any southamerican band have created since forefathers Sarcofago!! Then we started to hunt of appropriated member to complete the horde with two songs already created! After some pretenders to the drums slaughter, could not bear the bestiality required for the band! Satyricon is asked to join Goat Semen legions. ...And since then on the line-up is: Levifer (helltormish strings chaos and noise!), Neyra (vomits, death preacher and sentences of death!), Satyricon (battery, hellgunmachines and war blasts!). After two years of conspiracies and following the path of mother death is ready to enter the studio in order to record our debut demo tape selftitled “Goat Semen”! Some hymns: “Sodom Graves”, “Goat Semen” “Madre Muerte”, “Warfare Noise”, “At Luzbel’s Behest”....! We play total trendkiller southamerican terrorist death black destruction! Marching on the path followed by barbariann beasts like Blasphemy, Sarcofago, the true Mayhem (with Euronymous!!), Beherit,......!!!

V. You are the third band from Peru I heard about, after Mortem and Hadez... and in my opinion all bands from your country are characterized by a so “exotic” atmosphere, all you plays a kind of ultra evil and very well played kind of Death Metal with inhuman, demonic screams: can we talk of a Peruvian style of Death Metal, in your “objective” opinion?

L. I wouldn’t say a Peruvian style!!! Just a raw, ugly and trendkiller stuff developed here!!! Or southamerican attack!!!!!!! We all have a different styles but the same morbidness!!! (All these exclamative points makes me sick... -V.)

V. What about your direct influences? From which bands you took/take inspiration for both Levifer and Goat Semen?

L. Art is an ability, a talent, a dexterity to express simbolically, through different ways!!!, an aspect from a reality! I am a black artist damned to evilution!!! There is no art when you can't find talent! That's it!

V. Why to perform and release a "Tribute To The Supreme Beast? Which is the Beast you mean, Satan? Are you Satanist and which meaning you give to a such terme in case?

L. Worship Satan!! Worship yourself!!! Kill all ways of Christ!!! I practice that in my way, the way all Satanists should do by themselves!!!!

V. Why in the demo cover there is written that the stuff has been recorded on "XXII A.S."? What a kind of date is anyway?

L. It was my Satans reigns age in this black globe, in that time (2000) (For sure it wasn't the Church Of Satan datation -V.)!!

V. In your web-site I've read an interview on which you told that Black Magic(k) is one of the subjects of your lyrics... so tell me: have you ever practiced any ritual concerning Black Magic? Have you got any interesting to tell me about?

L. I use to make some ritual when I need them!! It is good to face yourself (your demons!!!!!) (What a fucking answer... -V.).

V. And what about the other (main) subjects of the Levifer's demo lyrics, track by track if you can? In which circumstances you usually write lyrics? Are they inspired by any particular reading and which ones?

V. Why, if your style is Death Metal, you use facepaintings? What meaning you give to your facepainting? Why do you need to paint your face? To appear "evil" to the others?

L. Maybe if you focus in riffs you could say death, but if you check entire art, you will realize Levifer is death black kult!!! Mske up is for warpaint! As declaration of war with master, war to fukking god!!!

V. Are you evil?

L. We all black soldiers are considered as evil, and that'ss our label!!! In thhis fukking earth!! Let's be proud aabout it (Really unintelligent answer -V.).

V. Have you ever played or will you play live with Levifer or Goat Semen? How your shows looks/would look like? I guess it would be a total black war, right?

L. It is likely to play live with Goat Semen!! It will be a total holocaustic warhell armageddon!!! For sure!!

V. What can you tell me about your label Devil's Art Prod.? What's going on with it, after the releasing of the Levifer demo? Have you any plan for releasing Cd's? It would be possible to listen a Leviver Cd in the future?

L. DAP spread black plague through hellish distribution where you will be able to find kult, rare, ugly and raw stuff!! Extreme fukking black deathell mainly!! So be in touch and ask for huge katalog!! DAP was born because of Levifer release and I am interested in described kind of stuff from above!! So evil hordes be in touch!!! Would like to press Lp's, Ep's, but unfortunately we don't have vinyl plant here!!! There have been offers about pressing Levifer in Cd!! So far any signed deal!!! Still spreading and promotion of unholy stuff around globe!!!

V. About Goat Semen, you have done a promo tape in 2000, but will you never release other stuff so? It would be a pity! If I'm not wrong you have told me about an upcoming tape...

L. So far, available Goat Semen reh. tape 2000: southamerican terrorist black death destruction, which contains 5 tracks that will be included in coming demo debut selftitled!!! I am doing presales for it!!! Be in touch!!!

V. Is it true that a split 7" Levifer/Goat Semen will be available in the future? From which label it will be out? How many copies will be pressed of the item?

L. Split will be released by Legion Of Death Rex (fra), and they will press 300 pieces of hatred and darkness!! 666!!!
