Hi Necrodevil. Can you introduce your band Sadogoat to the readers of my ‘zine with a bio, discography and the usual boring shit and tell us why you decided to form the band? How would you call your band playing, anyway? Black metal?
- Well to start from the end, we play Satanic Death Metal and we play Unholy Black Metal. Hmmm, bio, zzzzzzzzzz, we formed in 98 and did some demos until 2003 when we released a 7”, members now are Lord Titan and me + the usual other members who might or might not join in recording sessions and if we ever get a chance to play live again I will have to find some fags to join in… and I started playing metal because Blasphemy is gods.

You seem to be very inspired by kult bands like Beherit, Profanatica and Impaled Nazarene (also in the lyrical aspect, song titles and similar) … right? In example the name of your band is taken from the second 7” by IN… You also did the cover of the song “Sadogoat” in the demo “Suicidal Satanic Death”… - Impaled Nazarene used to be gods too, and actually our band name was inspired by another 7” of theirs, “Satanic Masowhore” I thought that was great and if you could put just maso in front of a word why not sado? And I always wanted a name with the goat part, so we decided on Sadogoat, I might have had the “Sadogoat” 7” somewhere in my mind as well, but fuck, I am not sure I would have chosen that name if I had remembered it, maybe I should have called the band Tireheb, that would have been cool and I could have used the Beherit logo reversed… today I’m inspired by Diabolus, I might even rip some parts for next 7”, so I have lost the Profanatica shit, it was a sad 7” anyway… It’s quite obvious that the artwork of your 7” “Scourging The Son Of God” it’s a somewhat parody of the Profanatica’s “Putrescence Of…” demo cover, right? Also the logo you used in that 7” reminds the Profanatica’s, and last but not least your line-up presentation has Profanatica song titles… what would you reply if one say you are a Profanatica clone band? - That would be cool… unless it was the fag part cloning. I hate Paul Ledney, he is a cum guzzling fag. Well I don’t want to call the cover a parody, I always liked the profanation of painting Jesus and friends, oh and our split LP was cancelled, it had some great image of Mary, maybe we use that on another release… purity is a lie… |
What do you think of the actual Impaled Nazarene? Do you follow them now? Are they still cult in your opinion? What do you think of the short come back of Profanatica and Havohej in 2000/2001?
- Well I don’t like Impaled Nazarene anymore, there is nothing special about there music anymore, they should have stuck with what they did good, now they are just duuh, I liked Rapture though, but that one is old too… I don’t like their new material or their image anymore.
Well for Profanatica and Havohej, it was stupid that Paul revived these bands, the new releases was great but to re-join the scene and rip so many people off that is very lame.
Your site about Beherit is one of my fave of fave (it is linked in my “links” section too)… You seem –like me- having a total adoration for a such kult band!! Why? Have you ever seen them live anyway? What do you think of the electronic stuff by Beherit and the Suuri Shamani stuff?

- Beherit is a great influence, and I do have that homepage, I have been collecting Beherit for quite some years now, I am not sure but I would say I have the largest collection at least here in Denmark, I need “The Oath of Black Blood” LP (I have it!!! -V.) though and split 7” with Death Yell (I could had it once, but it was 75 fucking euro's, I'm crazy enough, but I had no money then -V.), that is a little sad, but I have 26662762 cd’s and shit tapes. Well I never saw them live, when I was introduced to Beherit they were already dead. I like the electronics it has many great tracks and ideas, it is much better than all those gay ambient things Black Metal people throw out, Burzum go home and Mortiis is a fag. I don’t like Suuri Shamaani but that is probably because I don’t do drugs anymore. Anyway what can you tell me about your your mood in your way of playing, taking apart influences from the above mentioned bands (if you don’t think this is a shitty question, anyway)? - I can only play when I feel ok, when I’m depressed I don’t get anything done, that was also why I split up the band for some time not long back, but now I am working again, I usually sit by the computer and feel bored, listening to Beherit, Diabolus, Carcass or some other shit, Goat Vulva, well I just got myself a Goat Vulva shirt, haha… eeeh when something pops up I grab the guitar and start playing, it is all going a bit slow at the moment, but I write strange riffs and unmorally shit, I try to not repeat myself too muck, it is hard when I’ve done so much shit in the past… About your lyrics… what about the references to Cthulhu/Shub-Niggurath/The Ancient Ones/the Necronomicon? Is H.P. Lovecraft one of your fave readings? What do you think of the Necronomicon? Has ever been written in your opinion? What do you think of those who practice the rituals inside that “book” (A guy from Tsjuder told me he’s usual to do that)? |

- ha ha, I think any ritual would be good if you believe in it, I never practised any ritual from the Necronomicon, I would rather use parts and maybe parts from Solomon’s Key and just throw in my own interpretations, blood, fire, water, semen, I don’t practise anymore, I masturbate some. Lovecraft is great inspiration and he wrote the truth, Necronomicon is true too, but not that paperback copy which is around (Tell this to those of the Church of Satan... -V.), I think the true version is lost for mortals.
What’s your position in front of religion? Do you have any religious belief? What’s your position in front of satanism?
- Satanism is just Christianity, without Christianity there would be no Satanists, all those fags who think they are true Satanist and at the same time don’t believe in Him or God, that is so stupid, but then again, Laveyism is good enough, and don’t be anti Lavey and pro Beherit and think Beherit is evil, Beherit is Lavey and so is many old bands, it is just a trend to be so evil as possible, the most evil people of them all is not evil it is fags sitting in their little basement trying to come up with the darkest thought and whining daily and licking virgin Mary’s asshole. I don’t know, I’m tired of people who haven’t been into the cult, I need to be left alone, I don’t socialise with trash anymore.
What do you think of nazi ideologies in black metal? Don’t you see that as a contradiction (black metal being a misanthropic way of living (individualism)/nationalsocialism being an ideology focused on racial matters, etc.(fucking socialism)? Do you share any N/S belief?
- Yes Black Metal is about Satan and not politics, Hitler was great, he killed lot of Jews which is good thing, I don’t hate people because of their skin colour, but I hate Jews and Muslims more than I hate Christians and I share nazi views because I don’t want my country to be taken over by Muslims, I like Blasphemy and Mystifier and that is both bands with niggers, but I like Burzum and Graveland too. I’m no nazi and no anti nazi either, but I don’t use politics in my music.
What about your way of living through (black?) metal?

- I used to live life maximum metal, long hair, drinking, living like shit, lot’s has changed, I cut of my hair in my depression, but I’m growing it back now, I don’t socialise much anymore, and usually I don’t drink alone anymore either, I don’t know if I’m really metal nowadays, I don’t live metal 100% and I listen to other stuff too, I have some problems figuring out what to do with my life, but I’m definitely more metal than lot’s of the shit kids who think they are metal.. rap metal, there is no such thing, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Manson etc that is not metal it is just trend, it is like calling Abba a metal band because they had guitar and drums in their music….. fuck. Still about literature… have you ever read anything from the Marquis De Sade (I think it’s cool to ask this to one whose band is called Sadogoat)? - Well I don’t read much else than Lovecraft and non-fiction shit, some occult too. I don’t have the patience to sit around reading long boring fiction novels. |
I think Denmark is not that “popular” in the underground for not having a massive black/death metal scene…can you advice me any danish bands worth to be mentioned? Anyway, do you follow/appreciate any Italian band?
- We have a strong underground, it is not that big, we have bands like Denial of God, Nidhug, Holmgang, Apollyon and Ad Noctum, the scene is not very big and we have a big percentage of posers around, I would mention Orken too by the way that would make Mr Psychotronic a happy little boy, he he. Hmmm I don’t know any Italian bands so I don’t know about that, maybe you could mention me some good bands, maybe I just forgot some.
Can you tell us any info about Hellhaunted and Black Jehovah, the two bands you did split demos with?
- Hellhaunted is still active, I heard they were about to record some new shit, I look forward to hear if it is listenable as Unholy Terror can’t play his own tracks.. Black Jehovah is dead.
Do you play live often? How a typical Sadogoat show looks like?
- We played live only once, it is just a normal show with intense music, but I don’t think there is any crowd for Sadogoat live shows again because Denmark is shit.
Future plans/releases?
- I’m working on material for a split 7” with Nocturnal Evil, so now we must see if that ever happens and I’m working on material for a compilation and material for a goat cult LP, I think things will get a little faster in a month when we get a rehearsal place again.
Why do you play music? For a self-gratification through art or what? Do you think the music of Sadogoat could be called “art”? Would you define yourself an artist?

- I like playing, I don’t know really why I do it, sometimes I get bored by playing and wants to quit but mostly I get some good energy by doing music, I do it for myself and for those who want to listen, I send lots of free stuff around to people and I share lots of my music by the internet, encourage people to dub it or share it on the internet, I think music should be less cash oriented, every time we release something I loose money on it. Artist? I don’t know about that, both yes and no, if Metal is an art. But it is shit. What point do you want to reach with your music and/or Sadogoat? Where do you want to arrive? - I want to release some more vinyl, because I love to have vinyl’s myself, I would like to rehearse more steady too, we will get a rehearsal room soon, and then maybe rehearse once a week or once a month with full band, and I can record more stuff by myself, and drink too.
