Tour 2004
Four
string instruments, two concert pianos – one voice. Gianna Nannini performs
in special venues
and sings precious melodies taken from her vast repertoire: hits
such as „I Maschi“,
„Latin Lover“, „Profumo“. And pearls, which she had to dive
for herself:
forgotten, hidden treasures like „Oh Marinaio“, „Contaminata“, and
„Una Luce“.
On
her European tour which lasts from mid February until the end of March 2004,
Nannini will be
accompanied by pianist and sound wiz Christian Lohr and the Solis
String Quartet – a
Naples-based string quartet with an international reputation
due to their
collaborations with Noa, Andreas Vollenweider and Luciano Pavarotti.
It
will be an acoustic evening focussed on Nannini’s voice. Never did her
whispering
and belting, her
flattering and yearning sound more impressive and effective than
today. „La
Giannissima“ accentuates the dynamics from a whisper to a cry, from
a pianissimo to a
fortissimo – with voice and pianoforte as the main instruments.
Crude,
yet elegant. One could say that with „Perle“, Gianna Nannini recorded the
album of her life,
in every respect. A record like a cathartic review of her
adventourous life,
and probably the best and the most touching she has ever
released.
