Apple DVD Player 2.3 patch

This patch allow you to use Apple DVD Player 2.3 on any Macintosh or clone with PowerPC G3/G4 and ATI Rage 128

Installation

Apple DVD Player 2.3 installer* works only on supported machines (G4 AGP, iMac DV, PowerBook DVD and iBook DVD). To install Apple DVD Player 2.3 on unsupported machines you need to extract files from DVD Software Tome using Tome Viewer
Of course you have to move files to the right location:

• Create My Apple DVD folder
• Apple DVD Player 2.3 -> My Apple DVD folder
• Apple DVD Player Guide -> My Apple DVD folder
• Apple DVD Player Read Me -> My Apple DVD folder
• DVD Navigation Manager -> Extensions folder
• DVD Region Manager -> Extensions folder
• DVD Runtime Lib -> Extensions folder
• DVD AutoLuncher -> Extensions folder

Apply the patch to Apple DVD Player 2.3 and enjoy.

* Apple DVD Player 2.3 is NOT avalible for download. It can only be found on new Macintosh.

About ATI drivers

Apple DVD Player 2.3 requires new ATI driver from MacOS 9.0.4 or better. You can extract them using Tome Viewer

Some usefull tips you can use to improve Apple DVD Player performances:

• Incrase meomory assigned to Apple DVD Player (30-40Mb)
• Set Disk Cache to 128k (in Memory control panel)
• If you have at least 128Mb RAM installed, turn off Virtual Memory
• Diasble Enegy Saver or any screen saver
