Mili S. Pietro è un villaggio a sud di Messina dista tre Km dalla S.S. 114 ed è 199 metri sopra il livello del mare.

Se si  proviene da Catania o da Palermo via autostrada l'uscita giusta è Messina sud-Tremestieri.

Da qui vi immettete nella strada statale 114 direzione Catania proseguite per circa 1,5 Km e alla vostra destra trovate il bivio per Mili S. Pietro.

Dopo il villaggio di Mili S. Marco sullo stradale per Mili S. Pietro sorge l'inusuale edicola costruita nel 1908 dagli abitanti del villaggio a ricordo del furto sacrileco di vasi consacrati dalla chiesa parrocchiale. Seguendo la strada, tra antiche costruzioni rustiche, lungo il torrente, si gunge al monastero basiliano di Santa Maria di Mili: il complesso sorge in posizione poca elevata su un'ansa del torrente.

Mili S. Pietro is a village in the south of Messina (Sicily). It stands at three kilometres from S.S. 114 and it is 199 meters above sea-level.

If you arrive from Catania or Palermo by freeway you have to leave in Messina sud Tremestieri. Where you will take the S.S. 114 towards Catania. After c. 1,5 kilometres in your right side you will find the road to Mili S. Pietro. After crossing Mili S. Marco village, on the right side of the road to Mili S. Pietro, stands the unusual aedicule of "Signor Lasciato" built by the inhabitants of the village in 1908 to remember the sacrilegious robbery of sacred objects in the parochial church of saints Pietro and Paolo, and the abandon of the same objects in the place where now you see the aedicule.

In your way to Mili S. Pietro you will see a lot of old rustic buildings, some of them were watermills up to the end of the last century.

Before the village, on the left side of the road there is the splendid norman church of Santa Maria of Mili with its basilian abbay.
