La Bottega di Paolo Rizzi
Lavorazione Artistica Metalli Preziosi
.

La Bottega
(Italian word for the Renaissance silversmith workshop - comes from the latin Apotheca, the workplace for artisans)

"....a remote universe where art and handicraft create an indissoluble marriage. Artistic works are unique and original combinations of silver, wood, gold and glass. Silver sheets are exclusively worked by hand-hammering (shaping). Chiselling and Embossing....... ancient crafts that swing between art and artisan."

Paolo Rizzi
is one of the few rare Artist Silversmith still practicing this traditional craft in Italy. He brings this age-old art of metal beaters to our modern world through his contemporary creations.

Originated by the Venetian Artist Giancarlo Fecchio in the late 60's, inspiration is still focused toward the rescue from oblivion of those ancient techniques - mainly Embossing and Chasing - which are part of the complex heritage of the Renaissance style Bottega

The development of ideas and concepts, under the careful perspective of equilibrium between concept and materialization, is often suggested by visions of the Venice Laguna. Generally they're inspired by the spectrum of unique and typical references to forms, objects, biological rythms and dynamics caracterizing Venice and his universe of suggestions.
