The school
cooperates with other European partners in the collaboration of
innovative projects in the field of linguistic learning. It takes part
in the program called "Lingua", a European network which
cooperates with other institutions for the development of didactic
materials and methods. Our Institute is a promoter (in
collaboration with the town of Otranto) of cultural events such
as stages, workshops and international meetings on projects and
cultural themes that are presented every year. Some of these projects
will be available through the several exchange programs of the
European Community. |
The school
is seat
and preparation center (officially recognized by the University of
Siena) for the CILS-certificate, certification of Italian as foreign language
officially recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
CILS-certification can be used for employment or study whereby an
official declaration of linguistic competence is required.
The Italian
language school Porta d'Oriente also
collaborates with the University of Lecce, a University with
many faculties (Law, Economy, Mathematics and Physics, Engineering,
Letters and Languages) whose international vocation is expressed in
its participation with different European programs (Erasmus, Leonardo,
etc.). Students wishing to integrate the course of Italian language
with some monographic stages at the university, can acquire more
detailed information from the reception office at the school.
The goal of
the school is to relive the natural vocation of Otranto which is
cosmopolitanism, recovering the concept of Otranto "a crossroad
of cultures".
