The Cooperativa Sociale "IL VOLO" made up in the 1997, is fully composed from 14 professional specialized figures in the sector of the Psychosocial and Relational Rehabilitation: 2 psychiatrists physicians, 1 psychologist, 1 internist physician, 1
rehabilitation therapist, 2 technical of the psychiatric and psychosocial rehabilitation, 1 nurse, 2 socio-assistencial operators, 2 enlivening, 1 educator for the infancy, 1 administrative.

The initiatives and the plans that it understands to carry out in the metropolitan territory they concern innovative services turned to disabled persons with psychic problematic, physics and of mental delay, following the diagnostics criterions of the ICD-10 and of the DSM IV (Autism, Childish Neurosis of serious and light type, Fenilchetonuria, Down Syndrome, ...) in conformity to most modern interventions of rehabilitation.

The operators, in the think and carry out the plans, they note of a theoretical model of reference supported by solid scientific bases and formality of intervention of high human valence, coming meets and placing side by side the  and the care and responsabilitation of the families figures of the psychic and intellective disabled persons.

The initiatives perform a valid alternative to the improper and definitive istitutionalization, for the territory of Catania, of childs and adult with psychic and intellective problems, carrying out services of qualified professionalism and that they allow the real share to the family and social life of the disabled person and of the family nucleus of affiliation.
Particularly:

• services of Relational Rehabilitation (Psychomotricity, Language, Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation through the Horse, Hydrotherapy, Pet-Therapy, Psychoanimation, Techniques of Video-comparison, Bodily Expression ...) to activate into the head officer that in fit public and private structures (schools, social centers, handlings, swiming pools

...);

• Home Rehabilitative Services, cognitive and care assistive ones;

• Documentation Services and analysis for the promotion, formation, consultancy, monitoring and technical support about the problematic of the Psychic Disability.

The Coop.  "IL VOLO" retains besides particularly important the verifiability in narrow time, middle and along term of the rehabilitative results (in the measure of the attainment of the relative ability of autonomy socio-relazionale of the disabled person and the real share to the family and social life), foreseeing the elaboration of adequate rehabilitative schedules and of periodic reports to the Associations and to the institutional corporate Organizations specialized in the specific sector.
