Roma 17 aprile 1878 - 22 agosto 1958
Finished the classical studies rather than to suddenly be an employment,
at eighteen years old, he was devoted by autodidactic to the Painting inclined,
from the latent love for the art, to go in the country to study the landscape
from the true one.
It began in 1902 exposing some landscapes of the umbrian Country
and two years later in Rome "TemporaleMaccarese" that had a good
reception from his criticism and he was acquired by the mother Regina.
After a first period in which its painting reveals social intents (the
picture "The inn " was acquired by the King), it stuck to the technical
divisionism attracted by the strong colourism to finally return to the
landscape, his first love, enriched however with wise effects of light.
In 1905 Onorato Carlandi knew and accordingly entered the artgroup
of the "XXV', with the nickname the " lynx " for his clear eyes from the
intelligent and penetrating look, drawing angles and foreshortening of
Rome and the Country with a sense of poetry, harvest more than effusa,
that sprang from yesterday's reality, or better fromthe memoirs of
this, as in the picture "Ecclesia Domini", an angle of the parvis of San
Pietro, all wound of light yellowish, in which is hacked, for a wise contrast
of tones and lights, the curved and hasty figure of a priest. He got the
Desk of decoration to the Superior institute of Belle Arti of Rome and
then to the Superior institute of Architecture. It was also Manager of
the artistic teaching to the female professional School of Belle Arti and
Manager of the Artistic office of the Italian encyclopedia - Treccani.
Its versatility made him treat equallywell is the landscape, painting almost
always tooil (" Bridge Milvio ", "Clouds on the Roman Country", "
Street Appia ", "Memoirs of a hamlet"), that the decoration, hocking himself
also in the illustration of books (La "vita Nova" of Dante), in the incision,
in the glass door, inthe furniture, in the sketch of ostage stamps
and of apparent. Its works reveal solidity in the sketch and delicate sensibility
of temperament, succeeding in making the whole harvestsadness of his soul
of artist. It participated to important Shows, among which to the 77°
Exposure of the "Amateurs and Students" of belle Arti ("The white cloud",
"The Tower of Nerone", "bright Mystery "). To the 1911 Rome International
exposure, to the1913 Secession show (where he introduced "The civiattari''s
and "Ironic Song ") and to the Shows of the XXVs of the Roman
Country of 1922 and to that of 1942 to the San Marco Gallery in Rorna(where
it exposed "Castel Gandolfo'', "winter Morning on theTevere". "The marrana",
"Thered door"). Its works are found in the National Gallery of Modern art
in Rome ("Ascension ", "Nighttime", "Great view of Rome") while others
pictures were acquired by personality.
