Roberto Baraldi begun the study of the violin when he was eight years old at the Conservatory of music "G. Verdi" of Milan with Wanda Luzzato. In 1981 and in 1984 he won the first prize at the International Competition of Stresa; in 1986 he won the International competition "A. Dal Zoppo" in Mantova for wich he was invited to take part in three concerts at Hong Kong. In 1988 the Conservatory, with the collaboration of the Rotary club, awarded him with a grant as the best student of the school and, when he was just eighteen years old, he got the diploma with full marks. In 1989 he took part in the orchestra of the "Schleswig Holstein Musik festival" and, from 1990 to 1992, in the European Community youth orchestra (ECYO), with whom he toured all of Europe with conductors as L. Bernstein, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Mstislav Rostropivich, C. M. Giulini etc. . He perfected himself with Maestro G. Prencipe at the School of music of Fiesole (Florence) and in 1995 he achieved the Solisten Diplom with Prof Aida Piraccini at Conservatory of Winterthur (Switzerland). He has been concert master in the orchestra "Pomeriggi Musicali" in Milan and for the following three years he has been the leader in the "Arena di Verona" orchestra. Nowadays he is the concert master in the orchestra "Gran Teatro la Fenice" in Venice. With these orchestras he has performed as a soloist in many occasions. He has recorded for Tactus, Naxos, Nuova Era. |
