None the less Roiate, like its sorrounding villages and the towns, has a wonderful historical and cultural heritage that both the municipality and the citizens want to respect and to promote. On eof the aims of the project is to promote this heritage by cleaning and working together with international volunteers also there for this purpose. The local authorities are willing to help develop this project and also to involve the young people in activities useful for the community and for the patrimony. The workcamp, organized by the italian branche of the international organisation YAP, was run in collaboration with local authorities, the region of Lazio, the organisation utopie, and environmental associations taking part in F.I.E. (Federazione Italiana Escursionismo) like Sentiero Verde. The work was mainly focused in cleaning and renovating ancient roman walls near the town of Roiate. This wall was built by Roman community in the IV century B.C. The volunteer have also take part in ecological events and manifestations. Excursion in the nearby towns and localities was been organised during free time and weekend. Volunteers was lodged in the local school, with kitchen and services. Daily life and food was take care by taking turns.The group was made by twenty international volunteers and two camp leader that was help the group in organizing the daily life, the free time activities according to the local possibilities and that waas take care of the intercultural part of the workcamp.
