Born in Verona in 1974, he started playing classical guitar when he was 11.
Then he attended the "Antonio VIVALDI" Conservatory in Alessandria, where in 1994 he got the Diploma in guitar with the highest mark of "Ten out of ten", his teacher being Angelo Gilardino.

For three years he attended the International Advanced Academy of Music in Biella where in 1997 he got the Diploma with "Exellent".
He took part in several competitions always reaching the first positions and obtained awards, among which:

(1995) SECOND prize
at the "Francisco TARREGA" International Guitar Competition in Benicasim, Spain;

(1999) FIRST prize
at the "Andres SEGOVIA " International Guitar Competition in Almunecar, Spain;

(2001) FIRST prize
at the "DE BONIS" International Guitar Competition in Cosenza, Italy;

(2002) FIRST prize
at the "EBE CAZZANIGA ANSALONE" National Guitar Competition in Abbiategrasso (Milan), Italy;

(2002) SECOND prize (First prize not awarded)
at the 35th edition of the "MICHELE PITTALUGA" International Guitar Competition in Alessandria, Italy;
In 1992 he started the carrier with concerts in Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland and Sweden, both a soloist and in chambers music groups, and he perfomed the guitar and orchestra concerts by Rodrigo, Villa Lobos, Castelnuovo Tedesco, Giuliani and Bacarisse.

He was invited to several International Guitar Festivals both in Italy and abroad.

On 7th January 2000, he inaugurated the concert season at the G. ROSSINI Theatre in Pesaro.

In the same year he partecipated in "ASTI TEATRO 2000", as well as in 2001, with "Metamorfosi Trio" (double bass Franco Feruglio, trumpet Luca Calabrese, and Christian) performing the soundtrack of "L'EVENTO" ballet (with Isildurs Bane group), staged in Italy and Sweden.

In Maj 2001 he was guest (with Metamorfosi Trio) of the "INTERNATIONAL FESTIVALS OF EXANGES AND TWINNINGS" held in Skelleftea, Sweden, while from 10th to 31th July 2002 he performed a number of concerts in Sweden, where he was also guest of the "FALKENBERG JAZZ FESTIVAL".

He plays also in duet with american flautist Marlaena Kessick.

He plays guitar (as first part) in “Quartetto Angelo GILARDINO”

Several domestic and international newspapers and magazines showed interest in his activity, and the Spanish newspaper
"EL PAIS" considers him "....among the best european guitarist".

Among the musician who contributed to his musical training there are: Vladimir Horowitz, Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Ida Presti.

His guitar was built by lute-maker Mario Garrone (Acqui Terme, Italy).

He was in the jury, in the XXVI edition of the “International Guitar Competition M. GIULIANI" in Bari (October 2003)

In maj 2003, has recorded a solistic cd for the record label GOLDEN MAP of Milan (Production: Massimo Monti - Sound Engineer: Gianni Prudente).
The title of the album is: "My Favorite Things… a guitar recital by Christian Saggese".
