L'Occhio is a Bi-weekly free magazine of Information and popular culture distributed
and edited by the Journalist Marisa Fallico.
The newspaper, based on non professional and voluntary collaboration,
reserves a fixed amount of pages to each town where it is distributed and
averages about 2500 copies for each issue.
It is distributed in San Fili, San Vincenzo, Montalto Uffugo, Luzzi and San Benedetto Ullano.
Since December 1994, L'Occhio has become a fixed appointment for the local reader as well as
for the immigrant who receives it by mail. In addition to the current events and the news, particular attention
is given to the rediscovery of traditions, facts that are not very common of popular culture,
the transcription of traditional poems handed down to us orally, cooking etc.
In editing these pages, lot of information was obtained from the archives of L' Occhio, sometimes whole articles( which I have always acknowledged) and in regards to the history of San Fili and its Churches,
I have used the narration published in installments by my mother, Franca Gambaro.
