The Province of Grosseto and the Education Agency IFOA, in collaboration
with the Commune of Santa Fiora, organize two high formation courses
for orchestral players, called "Prove d'Orchestra", for
woodwinds, brasswinds, strings and percussions. The courses are
supported by the European Union (F.S.E.) and will be held at Santa
Fiora (Grosseto).
The courses are reserved to:
- Course n. 1 (Measure A3): 16 students, not older than 24 and
unemployed for at least 6 months, or older than 24 and unemployed
for at least 12 months, holding a Conservatory Diploma or equivalent
title. Eight posts (50%) are reserved for women.
- Course n. 2 (Measure E1): 16 women, either employed or unemployed,
holding a Conservatory Diploma or equivalent title.

Duration of the courses:
Course n.1 (Measure A3): 300 hours (absences are permitted up to
20% of the total duration).
Course n.2 (Measure E1): 300 hours (absences are permitted up to
20% of the total duration).
Period:
from July 15 to September 5, 2003
Topics:
Technique of individual performance, technique of performance in
an orchestral section, chamber music, physiopathology of instrumental
performance, history of music, music profession and formal analysis,
music and computer, training in concerts.

and winds;

7. B. Britten, The Young Guide for the Orchestra.
Students will receive free half-board and lodging according to
the regional rules regarding the European Social Funds. Course attendance
is free.
Admission to the courses will be determined through a selection
process if the requests will be more than the vacancies for each
instrument. The date and the place for the auditions (to be defined
in June) will be communicated to the candidates through a telegram.
An audition will consist of:
a) performing a classical program;
b) sight reading;
c) motivational interview.
After the auditions, a list of the candidates for each instrument
will be compiled. After the courses, attending students will receive

The admission form must have the following attachments: curriculum
vitae, phocopy of an identity document, copy of the diploma certificate,
self-certification of the unemployment situation for course n.1
(Measure A3); foreign students: validation of education certificate
by the embassy; extra-comunitarian students: stay permit for study.
A 10.33 Euros revenue stamp must be attached to the admission form,
