Santa Fiora | |||

Santa Fiora is a medieval village, located near Mount Amiata at an altitude of 800 meters. It was chosen as an ideal place for the Festival. It is surrounded by a wonderful natural environment, with its thermes, woods and characteristic mountains, appreciated by many tourists in all seasons. The local administration is ambitious and well organized. There are many good hotels and restaurants, with different price ranges, which can fulfil all the needs of the students and of the tourists who come for the Festival. The courses will be held in the schools of the Commune. The concerts will be performed in the most beautiful places of the village, as the Peschiera, the Pieve (with its wonderful ceramics by Della Robbia), the Closters of the Monastery of the Forest; all are renowned for their spectacular architecture and ideal acustics. Also some of the village's squares will be considered. |

| How to reach Santa Fiora | ||||
|
By car: autostrada A1 up to Florence
(exit at Firenze Certosa); then superstrada Firenze/Siena, continue
in the direction of Grosseto (exit at Paganico); then follow the direction
Monte Amiata - Arcidosso - Santa Fiora. By train: reach the railway station of Grosseto, then go to Santa Fiora by bus (RAMA line). By air: reach either Rome or Pisa international airport, then continue by car or by train as indicated above. |
