FROM TAVOLARA TO CARLOFORTE

Just south of Tavolata, round Capo Coda Cavallo, the coastal scenery slowly changes. Long white beaches and rocky promontaries lead towards the orosei Gulf.

From here on, the limestone cliffs rise over 300m above the sea, broken by the famous cala Luna, Cala Mariolu, and others. Above and below sea level, endless caves.

Towards Arbatax, the coastline changes again.Out from Ogliastra Island the clearest of waters reveal steep porphyry peaks with deep gorges. The sea bed to the west is covered with red pralines seaweed.

Off Cagliari beach, a beach rock, there are plentiful morays and nudibranchi in the crevices.
