An old legend tells that in the prehistory the Nettuno’s son , went to Peloro’s head, from Boeotia. His name was Glauco, he was a handsome fisherman, with blue eyes and long and fair hair. Sylla, Forco’s beautiful daughter as soon as she saw him, she fell in love with him and Circe the Wizard too that transformed Sylla in a marine monster with six heads and twelve legs.

When Circe splits up Glauco, he started to get old because of the pain. One day he saw that some fishes that stayed on some grass revived, so he ate it and became a triton.

From that moment on, Glauco stayed in the straits of Messina and when there’s the storm, he draws out the head from the water and the storm abates.
