THE BASILICA ROMANA MINORE

The Basilica Romana Minore was completely rebuilt in the XIX century.

When Francesco Garavaglia was the parish priest in 1884 it was demolished;  it was replaced by a much bigger church which could meet the needs of a larger population.

Outside the new church shows  a  sober, classical style, although  it’s rich and decorated inside.

In the years 1849-50 the Serassi Brothers built a very precious organ, which is still one of the best in Northern Italy with 56 registers and  2268 pipes.  It is listed as a historic monument of Lombardy.

The church dominates  with its arcades the  town square. Nearby there is the clock tower dating back to 1578.

The church preserves  Teodolinda’s Ring.
