Missaglia is in Lombardy, in the Province of Lecco, on the road that leads from Cernusco Lombardone to Monticello. It is situated in a hilly scenery, at the foot of the Prealps.

There are about 6,700 inhabitants, who also live in the nearby villages: Bariano, Contra, Lomaniga, Maresso, Missagliola, Molinata, Ossola.

Here are some tips on this area:

 

 

  Missaglia,  which used to be one of the 14 “pievi briantee",  still preserves some important historical-artistic remains;  

it was  the birthplace of Ernesto Teodoro Moneta, an outstanding personality in the 19th century ‘s Italian history.

 Curone Park, a  beautiful natural  park surrounding Missaglia;

Missaglia is known also for its industrial activity and handicrafts: the remarkable basket work of   Cesteria Comi  and  Sante Pizzol’s  stained glass windows.
