SUMMARY:
An infamous policeman from the former regime who is known by the nickname of Spider, works as a private detective after the democratic changes. He quickly gains a client who commissions him to investigate his wife's infidelity. Spider recognises his client as his former long-term victim, but the victim does not recognise his torturer. Is this simply a misunderstanding or part of a well thought out plan of revenge?

The play Spider and Cinderella was premiered by the Travelling Theatre-Touring Company in 1997. It won the Golden Laughter award at the Days of Satire festival as the best drama text in 1997; the Marul prize for best male role for Vanja Drach; and the prize for best male role at the Small Stages Festival in Rijeka, which went to Kruno Saric.

DEJAN SORAK film writer and director, novelist and playwright and theatre-director. Winner of numerous domestic and international prizes. His full-length feature films include: A Small Train Robbery, Officer With a Rose, Bloodsuckers, Time of the Warrior, and Garcia. Major plays: Death of a Priest, which was directed by the author at the Gavella Drama Theatre; Reptile Pavilion, a comedy awarded the Marul prize, performed in a radio adaptation in Germany, Ireland, Slovakia and Italy; and the drama Eyes which won first prize in a Croatian Radio competition.
