MILKO VALENT (Zagreb, 1948) earned his degree in Philosophy and Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. He has been writing and publishing professionally since Autumn, 1976, as follows: poetry, philosophy, short prose, novels, polemics, essays, theatre criticism, pageants, radio plays, and plays. To date, he has published eighteen books, five radio plays (all performed), and one pageant. His book of plays, Drums and Lace, was published in 2000. He has been a member of the Croatian Philosophy Society since 1976; the Croatian Writer's Association since 1981; the Croatian Centre of PEN since 1992; and the Croatian Centre of ITI-UNESCO since 1995. |
