The pond of Platamona, situated in the Asinara Gulf (belonging to the township of Sorso) is parallel to the coast and separated from the sea by a sandy strip. It receives fresh water from its emissary, the Buddi-Buddi river, but latterly its ecological health has been compromised by waste products from hotels and neighbouring habitations
