INTRODUZIONE

YOUTH STYLES

Youth's fashion history began in the 19 20s,when the first world war finished and when the women became important for society ,because they helped men to work.

There were two important monuments of protest: VAMPS and FLAPPERS.

Vamps were women that wore exotically dressed and they had white faces ,black eyes and red lips.

Floppers had short boyish hair ,pearls ,drop ,wast dressed and they danced to jazz ,swing and had crazy dances.

In the 1942-43s there were 200 TSUITERS that were American blacks and hispanic. They wore brightly coloured boggy suits, big hats and they had moustaches and greased haic.

They danced and liked the big hand of "cabcalloway".

In the 1945s the war finished so the American culture changed and brought otimism ,more money and a baby boom in the rest of the world. The consequences of these factors were that in 1950-60s there were more joung people and there were more universities and different monuments and music.

For example Bill Haley was the inventor of rock with the 1950s "ROCK AROND THE CLOCK".

There were other movements: HIPPIES. They had social revolution for peace and love against the capitalism of society, they were buddists and they smoked drugs. They listened Jimi Hendrix and the Doors.

The other groups were PUNK in the years 1975 to 1978, NU-METAL, in the years from 1998 to today. GLAM ROCK in the years from 1972 to 1974,NEW ROMANTICS from 1977 to 1978 and DISCO in the years from 1975 to 1980.

PUNK STYLE

The punk style was born in the Usa and captured the anger and frustation felt by many teenagers.

Punk used antifashion to express disgust at the aspirations of the middle classes. It was a difficult period for teenagers, because there was high unemployment and kids felt they had no hope and no future; there were also more problems for Europe and North America after the Israeli war and the inflation of the oil crisis.

Punks wore leather jackets, tight trousers and their hair was dyed in colours: yellow, red, green, blue or orange. Many more had their hair mohican style, stiffening it into place with liberal helpings of glue. This style was a symbol of youth rebellion from the 40s and punks made it their own by adding chains , studs, badges, safety pins and pants.

They also had aggressive and colorful make up.

NU-METAL

In 1998 was born NU-METAL. The most important metal groups are Limp Biskit and Linkin Park.

They was born recently. Their activities are extreme sports and their clothes are metal chans, boggy jeans, sports shoes, beard and caps.

                                      DISCO STYLE

Discomania was born in the United States at the end of the 1970s. Discotheques created a fantasy world were the light shows dazzled. The music thumped and the real life was left at the door.

With disco came glamour and a return to dressing up. Choosing what to were added to the excitement and attracted attention many of the people at the most exclusive clubs were in the fashion business. Stephen Burrows was the king of disco. Most outrageous of all was the futuristic look, with badly glitter and gold "lamé", but not everyone was so extreme! For those an a budget, sportswear was a cheap option and incluted satin cunning shorts teamed with skimpy vests.
