The "TIRELESS"
Il 12 Maggio 2000, pochissimi mesi prima del disastro del Kursk, il sottomarino nucleare inglese HMS Tireless, della classe Trafalgar, ha un guasto al reattore al largo della Sicilia. Sembra che il mezzo abbia rilasciato una piccola quantità di acqua radioattiva in mare. Il sottomarino ha chiesto di poter approdare presso il porto di Taranto, ma il permesso gli è stato negato (giustamente?). Il Tireless ha dovuto quindi dirigersi verso Gibilterra.

On the May 12th 2000, few months before Kursk disaster, the English nuclear submarine HMS Tireless, Trafalgar class, has a reactor problem, near the Sicily coast. It seems the sub lose a small quantity of radiactive water. The submarine requested permission to go to Taranto harbour, but the base didn't get this possibility to the vessel. Tireless had to go to Gibraltar.
