This message is to alert you about some developements in the preparation of SPT2002; for full detail see our web site http://web.tiscalinet.it/spt\underscorespt/spt2002.html

(1) PRE-REGISTRATION FORM is now available on the SPT web site;

(2) Instructions concerning ACCOMMODATION in Hotel Palmassera are similarly available through our web site; note that this year you are required, in order to streamline the procedure, to take care yourself of your reservation unless you have serious difficulties doing so. We stress that you are not bound to stay in Hotel Palmassera: you can very well lodge in any other hotel in Cala Gonone (or Dorgali) or in the camping, although the special rates we offer are only for staying in Hotel Palmassera.

(3) The FULL BOARD rates for the whole week in Hotel Palmassera have been fixed at 287 Euro in single room, and 251 Euro in double (or triple) room. Like in previous SPT venues, we expect each participant will fully cover his/her expenses; should some funds become available to support participants, this will be limited to local expenses, and priority will be given to participants from less favoured countries and to students.

(4) Similarly, the CONFERENCE FEE has now been fixed at 100 Euro. A reduced conference fee of 50 Euro is required for students and unemployed participants.

(5) The FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT of the conference has now been issued; this is available through our web page, you can download, print and post it.

(6) It is not known yet if proceedings will be published; this matter will be decided later on.

(7) The conference page contains a number of links to other conferences presumably of interest to people interested in SPT2002; see in particular the Imperial workshop on Hamiltonian dynamical systems, the Scuola Normale Superiore research semester on dynamical systems, the SISSA school, and the whole Warwick symposium with its several months (and conferences) program. We will be glad to add links to other conferences and events in the future.

(8) Finally, it is a pleasure to thank all those who accepted to sit with us in the (now complete) Scientific Committee of SPT2002, i.e.: D. Bambusi (Milano, I), G. Cicogna (Pisa, I), A. Degasperis (Roma, I), G. Derks (Guildford, GB), J. Lamb (London, GB), G. Marmo (Napoli, I), J. Montaldi (Manchester, GB), G. Sartori (Padova, I), M.E. Sousa Dias (Lisboa, P), F. Verhulst (Utrecht, NL), P. Winternitz (Montreal, CAN), B. Zhilinskii (Dunquerque, F)

Simonetta Abenda, Giuseppe Gaeta and Sebastian Walcher
