My heart' s in the Highlands

My heart's in the Highlands, my heart in not here

My heart's in the Highlands, a-cashing the deer;

chasing the wild deer, and following the roe,

My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go.

Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the north,

the birthplace of valour, the country og worth;

Wherever I wonder, wherever I rove,

The hills of Highlands for ever I love.

Farewell to the montains high covered with snow;

Farewell to the straths and green valley below;

Farewell to the forest and wild-hanging woods;

Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.

My hert's in the Highlands, my heart in not here;

Me hert's in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer;

Chasing the wild deer, and following the roe,

My heart's in the Highlands wherever I go!

A Red Red Rose

My love like a red, red rose

That's newly srpung in June;

My love is like the melodie

That's sweetly played in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,

So deep in love am I:

And I will love thee still, my dear,

till a' the seas gang dry.

Till a' the seas gand dry, my dear,

And the rocks melt wi' the sun:

And I will love the still, my dear,

While the sands o' life shall run:

And fare thee weel, my only love,

And fare thee will a while!

And I will come again, my love,

Tho' it were ten thousand mile.
