More than a century ago,
life was of course different
from now,
but quality clothing was already felt to be
important, and Castangia put the
maximum care in the finest details.
Indeed, the invoices we have jealously
kept in memory of our past show, for
istance, that in 1872 Castangia was
"retailer of ready-made clothes and
manufacturer of made-to-measure
clothing. "We exhibited at the Turin Expò
in 1898 and at the Paris International
Expò in 1900.
We also read that "Castangia offers an
ample range of national and foreign
fabrics and a large assortment of hats, both
English and national. We also supply
complete outfits for administrative staff,
raincoats, knitwear, ties, umbrellas, collars
and shirts".

Oltre un secolo fa
La vita era ovviamente diversa, ma
già si
dava grande importanza a certi dettagli
nel vestire di cui Castangia si faceva
interprete.
Infatti dalle fatture gelosamente conservate
si legge che nel 1872 Castangia era "Negozio
in manifattura ed abiti fatti"; che nel 1898
ha preso parte all'Expò di Torino e nel
1900 all'Expo Internazionale di Parigi;
che la ditta:"Offre un vasto assortimento
di stoffe nazionali ed estere, cappelli d'ogni
genere, inglesi e nazionali.
Forniture complete per Amministrazioni.
Impermeabili, maglierie, cravatte,
paracqua, colli, camicie".
