Colour-ringing is carried out in two P. c. carbo norman colonies. Ring combinations include: on the left leg a metal ring of the Museum of Paris plus a single colour-ring; on the right leg a colour-ring plus an inscripted white or blue ring (depending on the colony). Inscription include a letter (C or M depending on the colony), a central vertical band, and a number (2, 3 and so on depending on the year of ringing).
