Until June 2003 we have recorded several local resighthings and a very recent observation of a two years old bird breeding in a colony in the northern part of the Lagoon of Venice (L. Panzarin, pers. comm.). Of 20 nestlings ringed in 2003, 13 (i.e. 65%) have been seen during the following winter/spring.
