1. Annibale Pretto

Twice National Champion (1971, 1973), he was the first Italian rider to win abroad and... our childhood hero.
Here he is caught in a long track meeting held in Montagnana (Italy).

2. Giuseppe Marzotto

World famous as an engine builder, 'Charlie Brown' was the first Italian professional rider.
Five times National Champion (1975 - 1978, 1983), he taught Armando Castagna.
Here is caught in a Continental Quarterfinal held in Krumbach (West Germany).

3. Armando Castagna

By far the most succesful rider in the history of Italian speedway, he joined the sport's elite in the middle 80's.
Twelve times National Champion (1984 - 1986, 1988, 1990 - 1995, 2000, 2001), he made it to a world final in 1985, 1986, 1990, 1991, 1993 and competed in the 1998 Grand Prix Series.
Here he is caught in a Continental Qualification Round held in Lonigo (Italy)
