The Toxicology program of the National Institute of Health of the American government. It was established in 1978, and its mission is to co-ordinate toxicology research and testing activities within the Department, to provide info about potentially toxic chemicals, and to strengthen the science base in toxicology. It is involved in designing, conducting, and interpreting animal assays for toxicity / carcinogenicity.
