15 DAYS  LAOS TOUR
 

Day 01 Bangkok - Chiang Rai - Chiang Saen

a.m. - Depart Bangkok to Chiang Rai by TG OR 8G Arrive Chiang Rai airport, and transfer to the city Lunch at a local restaurant   p.m. - Proceed to Chiang Saen, the former capital of the first Thai Kingdom, situated directly on the Mekong river at the border between Thailand and Laos. On the way, visit to Vat Phra Dhat Jom Kitti by climbing up 383 steps to the top of the hill. Also visit Vat Jedi Luang and the small museum nearby. Continue by longtail speedboat up river on the Mekong river towards the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos convene. On arrival in Chiang Saen, transfer to the Imperial Golden Triangle Hotel. Dinner and accommodation

Day 02 Chiang Saen – Houeixay

 Breakfast at the hotel   Transfer to Chiang Khong border and cross the Mekong river by ferry to Ban Houeixay check-point. Arrive Houeixay, transfer to the Thaveesinh Hotel. Lunch.  p.m. - Visit Vat Chomkao Manilat by walking up for overlooking of Houeixay. Then excursion by car to Ban Namchang, the village of Lao-Houei (Lanten minority), then continue to Ban Poong, the village of Lao Lu where the weaving and agriculture can be seen. Return to Houeixay at late afternoon.
Dinner and accommodation.

Day 03 Houeixay - Xiengkok - Muang Sing

Breakfast, transfer to pier, take a speed boat on Mekong river upstream to Xiengkok. Stopover to see the unusual stone known as nouni stone. Lunch. In the afternoon, by route to Muang Sing, on the way stopover to visit Lu, Akha minority villages in Muang Long and at Ban That.
Arrive Muang Sing at late afternoon, transfer to the Muang Sing Guesthouse.
Dinner and accommodation.

Day 04 Muang Sing - Oudomxay

Breakfast, visit local morning market where you will see hilltribe people coming down to buy or sell their products, then excursion by car to visit Chiang Tung Stupa and Akha village at Ban Namleung, Lao Houei at Ban Namdeng. Lunch at Ban Nateuy. Continue the route and visit Iko village at Ban Lakkham Mai. Arrive Oudomxay at late afternoon, transfer to the Singthong Hotel.
Dinner and accommodation.

Day 05 Oudomxay - Phongsaly  

Breakfast, excursion by pick up car to Bountai. Stopover to visit Ban Phijeu-Iko village and Ban Namli-Khmu village. Picnic lunch on the top of Phapheung hill to admire the beautiful panoramic view. In the afternoon, visit Iko-Pouli and Phounoy minority villages.
Short stop to visit former French camp. Arrive Phongsaly in late afternoon, transfer to Phoufa Hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 06 Phongsaly - Hatsa - Muang Ngoy

Breakfast, transfer to Ban Hatsa known as local pier of Phongsaly province. Then take a boat for 6 hours on Nam Ou river to Nongkhio. Through the trip daily activities of local people on both banks of Nam Ou river can be seen. Picnic lunch. Arrive Nongkhio at late afternoon, transfer to Phalisouk Guesthouse. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 07 Muang Ngoy - Luang Prabang

Breakfast, excursion by boat on Nam Ou river to Luang Prabang for 4 hrs. On the way stopover to visit the famous cave of Pak Ou. Picnic lunch by the river. Continue toward Luang Prabang. Stopover to visit rice wine distillation village. Arrive Luang Prabang at late afternoon, transfer to the Phou Vao Hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 08 Luang Prabang - City Tours

Breakfast, visit Vat Vixoun, Vat Sene, Vat Xiengthong, the most beautiful temple. Going up to Phousi hill for overlooking the city. Lunch.  p.m. - Visit weaving village, Ban Phanom. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 09 Luang Prabang - Vientiane by land

Breakfast, excursion by private van or coach passing through beautiful mountainous scenery to Vientiane 360 kms (around 7-8 hrs). Lunch en route.
Arrive in Vientiane, transfer to the Lao Plaza Hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 10 Vientiane

Breakfast, visit National Cultural Ethnic Park, Friendship Bridge and Buddha Park Lunch at the hotel. Sightseeing tour of Vientiane including visits to Hophrakeo, Vat Si Saket, Patousay (the Arc of Triumph) and That Luang Stupa. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 11 Vientiane - Savannakhet 

Breakfast, in the morning, drive for 6 hours to Savannakhet. Stopover to visit Sikhothabong Stupa in Thakek. Lunch at local restaurant. Continue to Savannakhet. Short stop to Ban Nateuy, the salt attraction plant and to visit Vat Xayaphoum, Vat Rattanalangsi, and the province museum showing the skeleton of dinosaur which is wellknown for the world animal of the million year founded recently in this region. Arrive Savannakhet at late afternoon, transfer to Nanhai Hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 12 Savannakhet - Pakse

Breakfast, continue by route to Pakse. On the way visit Khmer ruined temple at Heuan Hine.
Lunch at local restaurant. Stopover to visit Ban Xaphay, the wellknown weaving village.
Arrive Pakse, check-in at the Champassak Palace Hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 13 Pakse - Champassak

Breakfast, take traditional boat on Mekong river to Champassak. Biking to Khmer ruined temple for 8 kms. Picnic lunch. Continue to bike for 15 kms to visit another Khmer ruin.
Return to Champassak. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 14 Champassak - Phou Asa - Pakse

Breakfast. By car to Ban Km 48, then elephant riding to Phou Asa and Ban Khiek Ngong.
Picnic lunch in the jungle or on elephant back. Return by car to Pakse.
Dinner and accommodation.

Day 15 Pakse - Chong Mek - Ubon Ratchathani

After breakfast, visit local market. Then transfer to Chong Mek (Thai-Laos border) for departure to Ubon Ratchathani. Arrive Chong Mek and continue to Khong Jiam district with a visit to "Wat Phu Kao Kaew" on the way. Lunch at the Thosang Khong Jiam Resort. Continue to Pha-Taem, visit the peculiar rocks formation look like mushroom called "Sao Cha Leang" the amazing shaped rock appear to be the result of a long process of erosion. Afterwards, a walking tour of prehistoric rock paintings at Pha Taem, where the paintings are believed to be about 4,000 years old. The paintings depict a variety of animals, human hands and geometric designs showing the civilization of people along the Mekong River at that time.
Proceed to Ubon Ratchathani airport to board the flight TG031 (19:40- 2045).
