Day 01 Kunming - Arrival

Arrive Kunming by ..... and transfer to the  Hotel. Dinner and overnight at Hotel


Day 02
Kunming - Dali

Breakfast Early transfer to airport for morning flight to Dali. On arrival, visit the Cangshan Mountain by cable car and view the Erhai Lake from the mountain. Visit the Tie-Dye-Cloth workshop at Zhoucheng Town, the Bai People's Town Xizhou with their traditional Three-course-Tea Singing and Dancing Show.
Lunch en route On the way back, stop at the famous three elegant pagodas, the outstanding landmark of the region. The rest of the afternoon, will be free for your own discovering of the Old Stone Town of Dali with its colourful markets. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Hotel


Day 03
Dali - Zhongdian

Breakfast Long drive to Zhongdian (Gyalthang) north into the Tibetan plateau of south eastern Kham. At 3,300 meters above sea level lies Gyalthang which translated means the land of "Limitless Bounty". Hereunder blue Tibetan sky, are snow capped peaks, virgin forests of immense spruce and pine, meadows ablaze with fragrant wild flowers, pristine lakes. The town of Gyalthang (Zhongdian in Chinese) is the capital of the Dechen Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The prefecture is a treasure house of bio-diversity supporting about 7000 species of native plants among them the famous blue poppy.

Day 04
Zhongdian

Breakfast Visit of the old town of mud packed houses, the market place, the very typical farmhouses. Discover the Tibetan hospital and also the Garden Sumtseling Monastery-resembling the Potala in Lhasa- built by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century and having a current population of about 800 monks.
Lunch and dinner at local restaurants. Overnight at Hotel


Day 05
Zhongdian

Breakfast One day excursion to Shudu Lake to enjoy the wonderful untouched forests alive with wild rhododendros and azaleas in May and June and to meet the local pastoral people. Picnic lunch. Dinner Overnight at Hotel


Day 06
Zhongdian - Lijiang

Breakfast Drive to Lijiang and stop at the Tiger Leaping Gorge which is one of the deepest canyons of the world. Wedged tightly between titanic cliffs, the Yangzi river is so narrow here, so legend tells us, that a hunted tiger made his escape to the other side of the river in a single bound.Lunch at local restaurant.
If road and time permits it, stop at the village of the Stone Drum where you will have a look at the first great bend of the Yangzi River. The approach of Stone Drum offers a dramatic view of the Yangzi's near 180 degree turn where the water performs a grandiose about face.
For nearly 20 km the river, first flowing south, then north, runs parallel to itself. Locals say if it were not for their village standing guard at the bend, China would lose the water of the Yangzi to Southeast China, like that of the not too far away Mekong and Salween Rivers. Arrival at Lijiang in late afternoon.

Day 07
Lijiang

Breakfast Excursion to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with a chairlift ride to discover the much famed thirteen peaks. On the way, visit of the Baisha village, the ancient capital of the Naxi Kingdom. Lunch en route in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, after a walk to the Black Dragon Pond to have a look at the renowned Moon Embracing Pavilion, you will have free time on your own for sightseeing of the Old Town of Lijiang.
Lijiang is the center of the Naxi people, a relatively small minority group with a rich culture. Old Lijiang is an intimate mountain town of stone and tile, laced with swift canals and who has been put recently on the list of the world monument protected by UNESCO. Dinner at local restaurant followed by a Naxi concert evening. Overnight at the Hotel


Day 08
Lijiang - Kunming

Breakfast Early morning transfer to airport for flight to Kunming. Drive to the Western Hills followed by a 10 minutes chairlift ride up the hill. From the top a path winds down the famous " Dragon Gate ". On the way to the Western Hills, stop at the Huating Buddhist temple. Lunch and dinner at local restaurant.
Overnight at Hotel


Day 09
Kunming - Stone Forest

Breakfast Drive to the Stone Forest. On the way, you will visit the Golden Temple, a unique Taoist temple, a jade factory and an ostrich farm.
Lunch at the Stone Forest Restaurant In the afternoon, discover one of China's most remarkable phenomena. The Stone Forest consists of innumerable bizarre-shaped ancient limestone cliffs and peaks created by wind and water erosion some 200 million years ago Dinner at local restaurant followed by a Sani dance show. Overnight at Hotel


Day 10
Stone Forest - Jianshui

Breakfast Drive to Jianshui through very beautiful scenery.
On arrival lunch at Linan Hotel*.
In the afternoon, you will have time to visit Jianshui which was in ancient time a very important political center and is still today a very interesting city because of its special architecture: the Temple of Confucius set in a magnificent way with its glistening glazed tiled roof; the garden of the Family Zhu, a typical residential structure of southern Yunnan; the Twin Dragon Bridge which was built during the Qing Dynasty. Dinner and overnight at Hotel


Day 11
Jianshui - Simao

Breakfast Drive to Simao through subtropical landscape and fabulous view of deep ravines, endless terraced rice paddies, sugar cane and tea plantations. Stop at villages to discover the countryside life of the Chinese peasants. Lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at Hotel


Day 12
Simao - Jinghong (Xishuangbanna)

Breakfast Continue the route through a lush and overflowing jungle filled with impenetrable greenery. Lunch en route You will finally come out high above a river valley and then rapidly descend towards the huge yellow bends of the Mekong river Dinner and overnight at Hotel


Day 13
Jinghong - Kunming

Breakfast A day drive through a marvellously rich and fecund area, holding one quarter of China's animals and one sixth of its plant species. On the way, stop at a typical Dai Village and market, the Dai being one of Yunnan's major minority groups. In Xiaomenglun, you will visit the Tropical Garden, one of the richest botanical concentrations in the world. Lunch at local restaurant.
Take an evening flight Jing Hong to Kunming by Yunnan Airlines.
Upon arrival, transfer to Hotel for check in. Dinner and overnight at Hotel


Day 14
Kunming - Departure

Breakfast
Free time at leisure until transfer to the airport for departure
Depart Kunming by international flight for next destination.
