E Geoffrey - Self portrait (Portrait of him who sits by Martin's Horse)
E. Geoffrey was born in Lincolnshire and attended the Lincoln School of Art where he studied under Kokoschka's pupil Professor Barl. Later he studied in Paris and Vienna. He travelled extensively in Europe in order to study the great masters and spent many years in Rome perfecting his drawing and painting. He exhibited works in Rome, Florence, Pisa, Grosetto, London and the provinces. His works are in many private collections including one in Liechtenstein. One of his guiding quotes came from Leonardo da Vinci: "When we draw from the nature with as much care as we are able, we become as it were, an extension of the hand of God, helping in the act of creation".
