My name is Carlo Amedeo Pasotto and i have been the director of the Centro Studi Italiani in Urbania since it was founded in July 1986.

Carlo Amedeo Pasotto

Finally your wish has come true: you are coming to Italy, to Urbania, to our school. Here you will never feel you are “just a number”, lost among the hundreds of other students at the big university summer schools. Our classes are small (6-12 students), you wilI receive Iots of individual attention, in a small city. Here everything is on a human scale: the city, the school, the landscape, the people... Urbania, once the antique Casteldurante, is rich in history and art treasures. It is very near Tuscany and just one hour’s drive to the sunny beaches of the Adriatic. However, you wilI not find the mass tourism there is in  Rome, Florence, Venice or Rimini. For this reason, the town is an ideal place for a Ianguage school. Here the "foreigners” are our students, but not for long: very soon you, too, wiIl feel “Urbaniese”. You will be able to speak Italian with all the local people and make friends whit them. You wilI “vivere all’italiana” with the Italians. You wiIl learn quickly and well, thanks to the stimulating environment, full of human warmth and special attention to newcomers. You wiIl immediately become bound to the life and culture of a very pleasant community and, if you take part in the excursions and guided tours organized by the school, you will be able to visit the famous cities, rich in art and history, of this beautiful part of Italy. You will be able to work with Italian artists and prepare, with your own hands, delicious recipes from our culinary traditions. A rich programme like this cannot be improvised; it is the fruit of long experience. The Centro Studi Italiani in Urbania - the first Italian language school in the province of Pesaro and Urbino -  is well known throughout the world for the quality and originality of its programmes, unique in their kind. For this reason many universities, colleges, institutes and conservatories in America, Europe and Australia collaborate with us. In recent years other language schools have opened, especially in our area, and are trying to imitate us. However, our method and programmes are exclusive and cannot be imitated. For reasons of clarity, we whis to point out that none of these schools are in any way connected with the Centro Studi Italiani.

All students who have attended regularly wiIl be given a certificate of attendance. The centro Studi Italiani is a member of the ACCADEMIA ITALIANA Dl LINGUA (A.l.L.) and is an examination centre for the A.I.L. diplomas and for those of the Dante Alighieri Society. Our courses also prepare students for the CILS certificate (Università per Stranieri di Siena) and the ECL certificate (Dante Alighieri Society).

A LETTER FOR EVERYONE

Hong Kong, 7thOctober 1998

Dear Mr. Pasotto,

I am writing to thank you for a very rewarding and enjoyable stay at the Centro Studi Italiani in Urbania. I was most impressed by the standard of tuition and by the professionalism of my teachers. I really appreciated the warmth, friendliness and hospitality of the local people of Urbania and thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many students of different nationalities. I very much hope to return to Urbania at some point. In the meantime, my experience in Urbania has made me even more enthusiastic to continue my studies here in Hong Kong! With very best wishes.
