Lord Shiva, also known as Mahesh o Mahadeva (the greatest god), is one god in the Hindu Trinity.

He sits on a skin of a tiger, some cobras are around his neck and his shoulders, and the sacred river Ganga falls from his head. The trident is the symbol of his power.

He's also known as Nataraja, the Lord of the cosmic dance. His image has often five faces. Four looking towards each direction, and the fifth face is looking upward.
The night of Shiva is called Shivaratri, during the month of Magha, that is January-February.

Shiva is the god of destruction and He shows the disintegration in the cosmos. Shiva is also known as the god of asceticism, of regeneration and sexuality.
Nandi, a white bull, is Shiva's sacred vehicle.
