Not too far away from St. Mark's is the Contarini del Bovolo's staircase. By climbing the stairs (this time without the aid of an elevator), you can reach an ideal position to enjoy the charm of the city's orange roofs, domes, and other bell towers. |

The special nature of a city built on water over the centuries can be especially appreciated from the top of its bell towers. Breathtaking views will help you understand the fascinating power of this city, its history, its everyday life. On the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, opposite St. Mark's, you can find one of the tallest bell towers in town. Thanks to a comfortable elevator, you can reach the top, which allows you to extend the view of the city from the mainland up to the Adriatic Sea. The view you get from St. Mark's Bell Tower is more urban. You can reach the top of the tower by elevator and view the city's islets, its canals and the St. MarkÕs Square area. |
