WAMM - WAter Management Model - is a tool aimed at improving flood forecasting and decision making during flood events. WAMM represents the state-of-the-art in flood prevention and its development id being funded by the EC under the R&D programme Innovation, DG XIII. River authorities, research institutes, national ministries and, engineering consultants in Belgium, Italy, Denmark and Sweden are working together to ensure WAMM'S applicability throughout Europe. To this purpose three pilot studies in Italy and Belgium are being conducted with the goal of validating and improving the flood forecasting system.
