Information and fares

The principal departure point to Shetland fron the Scottish mainland is Aberdeen which has frequent services to all other major British Airports as well as Norway (Stavanger, Bergen and Oslo), Holland (Amsterdam), Denmark (Copenhagen and Esbjerg), Italy (Rome) and Switzerland (Vienna and Zurich).

British Airways Express operate a frequent service to Shetland as part of their comprehensive UK operation. The BA aircraft operating on the Highlands and Islands routes are the ATP (64 seats) and the Shorts 360 (36 seats). New aircraft have been introduced giving a higher standard of comfort and convenience for your journey. All flights are non-smoking.

Sumburgh Airport is shown as Lerwick in many timetables. Shetland's main airport at Sumburgh on the southern tip of the islands is, in fact, 25 m (40km) from the capital, Lerwick. As well as the inter-islands air service operated by Loganair there is a connecting coach service and taxis and self-drive cars are available at the airport.
