Carmignano is the ideal place for those who want to visit the interesting towns of Florence (20 km), Vinci and Prato (15 km), Pistoia (18 km), Lucca and Pisa (50 km), Siena (60 km) and the seaside by car (1 hour).
Approaching to those hills, which look more and more beautiful, you can see a countryside where wine and olive growings together with abbeys and a medieval fortress dominate all the area.
Carmignano is 200 m. high, but if you go on covering the panoramic road, in 10 minutes you can reach the “Montalbano” wood which is 620 m. high. There you can relax thanks to the quiet of the nature, a swimming-pool, a riding-school, a few restaurants and an elegant Romanesque abbey.

Carmignano also offers the chance to enjoy a relaxing holiday thanks to the lake where it’s possible to fish and over all thanks to the countryside that people can discover through interesting walks (there are a few itineraries drawn on some maps).

The territory is dominated by its medieval castle "Rocca" and includes several
artistic treasures like the archeological museum, the Etruscan tombs, abbeys of
the Renaissance period, 2 wonderful Medici's villas and
many others.

Etruscan, Renaissance and Medieval vestiges), and visit the most interesting
cities of Tuscany.

IMPORTANT NOTE: don’t forget to leave Carmignano without tasting its typical products such as wine (Carmignano DOCG), oil (which can be bought also directly in farms), dried figs, local biscuits (cantuccini and amaretti) and honey.
