Ballad Of The Fanfero - Trilogy/2

  On a midsummer’s day I was bewitched
by a God who loves to give mortals like me
the tasteless feeling to play with him.
  He has been playing for ten years with someone else
who feeds him, although he consumes him;
and my beloved, whom I adore the most,
  cannot decide which one to keep.
But which God satisfies himself with just one servant?
I wish I could feed him, only he and I,
  and in the meanwhile, I’m suffering and offering,
to distort my first mirage in my memory.
I really am the Fanfero, made of earthenware.
