Working on American Sets - What's
it like ?

Working
with Americans
It's not all that different from making a film with Italians (not forgetting that I am Italian). I must say that when you make a film in Italy it's much more of an event, almost festive, whereas in the States you get the feeling that you're truly caught up in an industry.
I've worked in American cinema twice and both experiences left me with a lot good memories and many lasting friendships. We keep in touch regularly and follow each other's careers across the ocean.
Most of all in “Sabrina Goes To Rome” where, being one of the protagonists, I lived for a month together with the cast and technicians. I then joined them in Los Angeles where, in the Paramount studios, I had the unusual experience (for me) of having to dub myself. Wandering through the studios I found myself actually in the sets of thousands of films I had already seen ... …a lot of fun!
Each and every
set has it's own particular microcosmos and, no matter what language is
spoken, what backing is behind the film, whether the work has been divided
properly, a special family atmosphere comes into being which is unique
to that set.
