My interests and hobbies

For sure my first hobby is the radio. I was a listener when younger. I was mostly at sea and the radio was also a good way to stay in touch with the world. One day by chance i met the secretary of the ham radio club of my town. He incited me and in 1978 i was licensed as radioamateur by the italian authority. My call is I6KYL

I put one vertical antenna (one 14avq and now one R5) on the roof of my building.- Since then i had about ten thousand contacts.- I like only long distance contacts and received some interesting awards :

The WAS, WAZ ( very hard on ten meters ) and the DXCC

In october 2000 with E30TA (Eritrea) I reached the 300 different countries "confirmed".-

For some time i also made about one thousand of contacts using the RS10/11 RS 15 satellites.- I used only one small 4 element beam on two meter and low power while receiving with the said vertical on the roof.
Another interest is the computer, actually one Athlon 2400. Since the end of 1999 i cooperate with the italian version of the ham news bulletin 425dxn
I am also a fan of the soccer team of my town "Ancona" that played in the italian serie "A". (2003/2004) Actually (aug 2004) we have financial problems and we don't know what will happen in the near future
